You know what you learned as a boy or girl scout for survival in the woods and how not to get lost, that moss grows on the north side of a tree. Well now if you happen not to be around any trees and you have your dog along for the hike watch when he/she does number “2”. A new science study has found that dogs oriented themselves in a north-south direction when they defecate. I wasn’t sure if this was really true when I first heard it the other day on a news program so I looked a little further. So, now if you would like to make an appointment for a veterinary visit for your dog the next time you are hiking around you can at least tell us what direction you are facing. :)
