Pet vaccinations (shots) are very important to your pet's health. Dogs and cats are at risk of contacting contagious diseases when exposed to other animals and the environment. Vaccinations help protect your pet from these diseases. Dogs and cats routinely receive vaccinations from when they are a couple of months old and then as needed throughout their lives. Some vaccinations are done annually. Some vaccinations are done every third year. The list of the following vaccinations are done for your dog and cat: As a veterinarian and as part of the Mobile Veterinary Services of Western Massachusetts we are aware of the risks involved to your pet in the local area. Rabies vaccinations are required by the state, all others are optional.
Routine Dog (canine) Vaccinations
Distemper, Parvo, Hepatitis vaccinations at 8, 12 and 16 weeks then once every 3rd year.
Lyme vaccinations 12 and 16 weeks then annually. (Optional) not as effected as one would like.
Rabies vaccinations (required) 12 weeks then if done 9-12 months later then every third year
Bordetella (kennel cough) once every 12 months. (Optional) for exposure in boarding situations
Routine Cat Vaccinations
Feline viral rhino, herpes, panleukopenia vaccinations: 9 and 13 weeks then once every 3rd year.
Leukemia: 9 and 13 weeks then annually.
Rabies vaccinations (required) 12 weeks then if done 9-12 months later then every third year.
